House rules

Version 1 · Effective October 17, 2026

This is an English translation for reference. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.

Welcome to Herradura House. These rules help your group enjoy the house in peace and keep good relations with our neighbors in Miraflores. By confirming your booking you accept these rules on behalf of your whole group.

1. Check-in and check-out

Time
Check-inFrom 2:00 pm
Check-outUntil 11:00 am

We know travel schedules don't always line up. If you need to arrive earlier or leave later, just ask: we are happy to be flexible as long as there is no other check-out or check-in booked that same day.

Access is with a digital lock and check-in is self-service. Before arrival, the main guest sends us on WhatsApp the details and a photo of the ID of each guest. We send you the code on your arrival day, once registration and payments are complete; it is personal to your booking and changes when your stay ends. For security, do not share it with anyone who is not registered.

2. Guests and visitors

3. Protection of children and adolescents

Herradura House rejects all forms of sexual exploitation and abuse of children and adolescents. We follow the code of conduct that Colombian law requires of tourism providers (Law 679 of 2001, Law 1336 of 2009 and Resolution 3840 of 2009 of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism). See our Child protection policy.

Documents for minors. At check-in you must show the originals of:

SituationDocuments
The minor travels with their father or motherThe minor's birth certificate and the ID of the father or mother.
The minor travels without their parentsBirth certificate, a notarized authorization from the parents naming the responsible adult, and that adult's ID. For Colombian minors, a letter from ICBF signed by a Family Ombudsman is also accepted.
Groups of minors (sports teams, delegations)The same documents for each minor, plus the ID of the adult in charge of the group.

A Colombian minor's ID card (tarjeta de identidad) does not replace the birth certificate, because the birth certificate is what proves the family relationship. Without these documents, we cannot register the minor or allow them to stay in the house.

During your stay:

Legal consequences. Sexual exploitation of minors is a crime in Colombia, punishable by prison. Any suspicion will be reported to the authorities immediately and the stay will be ended without a refund.

If you know of a case, report it (it can be anonymous): Police 123 · Attorney General's Office (Fiscalía) 122 · ICBF 141.

4. Noise and neighbors

After 10:00 pm we don't ask for complete silence, but we do ask you to keep noise at a level that doesn't bother the neighbors or the community: music at a moderate volume, conversations inside the house and no speakers in the front yard.

The house is in a residential neighborhood facing Parque La Herradura, and good relations with our neighbors are what allow us to keep hosting you. Noise that disturbs neighbors is also regulated by Colombia's National Police Code (Law 1801 of 2016).

5. Celebrations and events

With the guests staying in the house: you can celebrate birthdays, gatherings or any special occasion, always keeping noise under control.

With outside guests: prior authorization is required. Message us in advance telling us the type of event and how many people will attend.

6. Smoke-free and substance-free

Herradura House is smoke-free. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property, including the patio, the garden and the front yard. This also applies to electronic cigarettes, vapes and hookahs.

The use, possession or sale of hallucinogenic or illegal substances is not allowed on the property. Breaking this rule may lead to the immediate end of the stay, without a refund.

7. Pets

We are pet friendly at no extra cost. We welcome up to 3 dogs or cats per booking, of any size. So everyone is comfortable, we ask you to:

The main guest is responsible for any damage caused by pets.

8. Using the house

9. Security

10. Inventory and damage

11. Before you leave

12. Breaking the rules

We trust your stay will be a peaceful one. If these rules are broken, Herradura House may charge the main guest for the costs incurred.

In serious cases the stay may be ended without a refund. Serious cases are: use of illegal substances, bringing weapons, unauthorized events with outside guests, hosting unregistered people overnight and repeated complaints from neighbors.
