Protection of children and adolescents
This is an English translation for reference. If there is any difference, the Spanish version prevails.
This property protects children and rejects commercial sexual exploitation and any form of violence against children and adolescents. Herradura House adopts the Code of Conduct of Resolution 3840 of 2009 of Colombia's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, under Law 679 of 2001 and Law 1336 of 2009.
1. Our commitment
We do not tolerate any conduct that facilitates the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors, and we report any case we become aware of to the authorities. In Colombia these acts are crimes with criminal and civil penalties.
2. Who it applies to
- The owner and everyone who works in the house.
- Suppliers who provide services to the house or its guests, such as laundry, transportation or maintenance.
- Guests and their visitors, who accept it when booking together with the House rules.
- Our promotion and sales channels: website, social media, WhatsApp and booking platforms.
3. What we do
- We check the documents of all minors before they enter. Without complete documents, there is no entry.
- We train our team and ask every person and supplier to sign a commitment to this policy.
- We inform our guests about the legal consequences of the sexual exploitation of minors, on this page, in the house rules and on a sign at the entrance.
- We report any incident we become aware of to the Police, ICBF, the Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism.
4. What we never do
- Offer, in our promotion or services, plans that openly or covertly include the sexual exploitation of minors.
- Give information about places where it is arranged or practiced, or take anyone there.
- Provide vehicles, spaces or services for that purpose.
- Allow minors into the house for purposes of sexual exploitation or abuse.
5. If you travel with minors
Minors only stay with their parents or an authorized adult, and their original birth certificate must be shown at check-in. If they travel without their parents, a notarized authorization or one from ICBF is also required. The document details are in section 3 of the House rules.
6. Reporting
If you know of a case of sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor, report it. It can be anonymous.
